So many people are missing the financial boat these days, mistakenly convinced that the American Dream is to have it all and to have it right now. That is a recipe for financial disaster, bankruptcy, and a life of uncertainty. We made Personal Wealth Guru to show people how they can gain true financial peace, even if they’ve made poor financial decisions in the past. Once you learn some simple principles for managing your money, not only will you be able to pay off your debts, but you’ll be able to become truly wealthy. We believe that this is the American Dream and that it is with everyone’s reach.
There are other software packages out that want to take thousands of dollars from you in order to gain the benefits they have to offer. On top of that, they use systems that are difficult for most people to understand, and even seem to purposely make it seem complex so that you’ll believe their software is worth thousands of dollars. What we set out to do was make simple, easy to use and easy to understand software, that everyone can afford and will provide similar benefits. With PWG, we believe that we have achieved this.
In 2004 I was tired of being in debt and started learning for myself the principles of getting out of debt fast and building wealth the best way with the least amount of risk possible. I was surprised to find that the answer to my questions was simpler then I thought. My wife and I started doing a planning budget and built up a small emergency fund. We got rid of almost all our credit cards (cutting them up). We payed off all our consumer debt including student loans in about 2 years and were debt free except for our house and it felt wonderful. I started to be the resident ‘money guru’ with those that were wanting to know why this worked for us
At that time (2006) I was also working as a Lead Character Artist for The Walt Disney Company. I had been looking for a business idea because at heart I was an entrepreneur and I wanted to make a bigger difference in the world than making video games. I came across a software system that promised people if they used it, they could pay-off their homes in record time using a home equity line of credit to leverage their debt. It seemed amazing at the time because it appeared to be a magical or secret way to pay-off your house. The catch was that it was $3500.00 and it seemed to be a very un-friendly software for someone to use. It also had hidden risks that most people probably wouldn’t catch. I thought that if someone could come up with a personal financial software that was user-friendly, graphically beautiful, powerfully simple, and affordable. It could be helpful in creating a monthly budget, show them how to get out of Debt and build wealth faster then they realized. So that is exactly what I did.
I met with a couple of business associates who also had the same creative background that I had , and we came up with a plan to create the best personal finance software in the world. Easy to use, elegant and powerful. After working on it for 2 and 1/2 years we were ready with our first version. We unofficially launched in the middle of March of 2009. Our base of operations is in Highland, Utah for the time being. We should be ‘officially’ launching our business in the next month or two while we add missing elements (like our background story to our website).
